Wilsons supply a unique range of interior
and exterior Antique and Period doors, hand made from quality
hardwoods and reclaimed pine softwood.
We stock a range of the most commonly requested doors such as
the classic Georgian
panel front door, and these can be ordered in any size, wood
or finish.
If you need a door
that we do not have, your bespoke
door will be handmade by our team of skilled craftsmen.
Your hand
made door will be made to the highest specification using traditional
mortice and tenon joints where applicable. The wood used comes from
the finest selection of Iroko, Emire, Mahogany and White Oak hardwoods,
or the timeless beauty of reclaimed pine softwood.

Exterior
Doors are only available in Hardwoods, Interior Doors
are available in any type of wood.
| Reclaimed Pine |
- Originally grown in Oregon, USA
- Reclaimed from old Mills and Factories as large beams, then
re-sawn.
- Interlocked and straight grain with a ribbon pattern. Usually
has Knots
- Naturally aged and packed with character
- Light coloured sapwood with Pale Pinkish to deeper shades of
Orange heartwood.
- Used mainly for interior flooring, furniture and trim.
- Light weight
- Lower Cost

| Iriko |
- Grown in the Southern Half of Africa
- Interlocked grain and moderately coarse texture.
- Light to dark brown heartwood with paler brown sapwood.
- Often used as a substitute for teak and valued for upper-scale
interior/exterior joinery
- Medium weight
- Lower Cost

| Emire |
- Grown throughout West Africa
- Interlocked or straight grain, with a moderate course texture.
- Light to Creamy sapwood with light brown heartwood
- Light weight – ideally suited for very large doors
- Lower Cost

| Mahogany |
- Grown throughout West Africa
- Interlocked or straight grain, often with a ribbon figure, and
a moderately coarse texture.
- Medium brown sapwood and reddish brown heartwood
- Used for furniture, cabinetry, high class joinery
- Heavy weight, large doors can be very heavy
- Medium Cost

| White Oak |
- Grown in France
- Straight grained with a medium-coarse to coarse texture.
- Light, tannish heartwood with narrow, nearly white sapwood.
- Uses include interior furniture, trim, doors
- Medium weight

All our doors
come unfinished as standard.
Our in-house Finishing Service over two natural finishes which compliment
our doors
perfectly. We pride ourselves on finishing our doors to the highest standards
using traditional methods and quality products that we have tried and
tested.
| Waxed |
- Enhances the natural grain of the wood giving a rich warm look
- Caring Natural Bee’s Wax product keeps the wood conditioned
and preserved
- Coloured waxes allow you to have a preferred shade for your
door
- We will try to match your door shade with your flooring or trim,
